CRERI: About Us

The physicians of the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando started the Foundation project in 2002 based on their desire to continue to serve the community of Orlando and of Central Florida by fostering research and education in the field of colon and rectal surgery.

Dr. Samuel DeJesus, Chairman - Colon & Rectal Surgeon, serves as the President and CEO of a large surgical specialty physician practice. Dr. DeJesus is one of the founders of The Colon & Rectal Educational & Research Institute of Florida, Inc.

Dr. Paul Williamson – Colon & Rectal Surgeon, is currently serving as Chief of Surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Andrea Ferrara - Colon & Rectal Surgeon, has developed a nationally recognized residency program and Minimally Invasive Surgical Fellowship program in Colon & Rectal Surgery in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. Joseph Gallagher - Colon & Rectal Surgeon, currently serving as Research Director for a Colon & Rectal Educational Residency Program.

Dr. Renee Mueller - Colon & Rectal Surgeon, serves on the volunteer committee of the Colon & Rectal Educational & Research Institute of Florida.

Nancy Joiner - Board Secretary - Mrs. Joiner currently serves as an Administrator for education and research for a large surgical specialty practice.

Judy Smith – Business Administrator for a large surgical specialty practice.

Michael Mueller – Mr. Mueller is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Health Central Hospital. He has served previously as CFO of Doctors Health System and held the post of director of finance for Memorial Medical Center

Steve Valentine - Certified Public Accountant.
