CRERI: Education and Research

Our teaching program trains four colorectal surgeons each year and is one of the few board approved programs in Colon and Rectal surgery in the nation.

Our physicians contribute to the advances in patient care through their active involvement in ongoing clinical research studies in the area of colorectal diseases, the participation in meetings, the preparation of book chapters and scientific publications, and other research and patient related activities.

Getting Screened

Many colon cancer deaths can be prevented. Screening tests can find polyps, which are tiny growths that can become cancerous. Removing polyps early may prevent cancer. Screening tests also can find colon cancer early on, when there may not be any symptoms and when treatment can be most effective.
